Silk thread, secreted from the larva of a moth, is the strongest of all the natural fibers. Dry cleaning is recommended because some silk dyes will dissolve in water, causing color bleed/transfer. If washable, test for colorfastness, wash with mild detergent on gentle cycle and air-dry.
Protect silk by storing it away from light and insects. Perfume, strong deodorant, and perspiration can damage fibers, so always clean silk garments after wearing.
